The next meeting of
Congregational Care will be Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 9 AM.
Ken Hinz will present a program on “Grief”, following the meeting
(which we will try to make brief.) I encourage all members of
Congregational Care to attend, and any others who would be
interested.
If you are in need of a ride, or visit, or assistance in some way,

The Congregational Care Ministry met on
June 6th, and we discussed our Senior Ministry, which has been
inactive for over a year now. It was suggested that we have Ken Hinz
do a program on Advanced Directives, and perhaps hold it after a
Wednesday night HUB dinner. More information to follow.
Our ministry will not be meeting again until August 15th, and
following a brief meeting that day, Ken will do a program on
“Grief”, and we hope to have a small book available called “Good
Grief”. If you are interested please plan on joining us for that.
If you can, please do your part and sign up to help make and serve
coffee. Sharon Trudell started the coffee every Sunday morning when
she came in to open the church, as part of her custodial duties. She
spoiled us!! Any help you can give will be most appreciated.
Unfortunately, attendance at Game Day, June 13th was very small, and
we’re not sure if this is something that folks really want to do. At
one time, we used to get many out for it. If you have any
suggestions, or an opinion on this, please let us know.
There will be no Game Day in July or August, but if you let us know
differently, we may start it up again in the Fall. I want to thank
Dolores and Fred McCollum for all their help.
If there is anyone you know of who needs a call or visit from us,
please contact a member of the ministry, or Pastor Tom. We do try to
keep our eye on our members and friends, and if someone is away for
awhile, we like to contact them. You are the eyes and ears of the
church, and an extension of Congregational Care. We rely on you, and
need your help.

The Congregational Care
Ministry will be meeting again on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 9:00 AM
in Volkening Hall. If you are available, and drawn to serving and
caring for your church family and friends, please let us know. We
are always looking for new members to help with providing rides,
visits and meals, as needed. It’s a wonderful opportunity to serve
and to get to know your church family.
At our May ministry gathering, Ken Hinz gave a very interesting
presentation on “Active Listening”, something we all should be
attentive to doing. He will be making the presentation again for any
and all members of the congregation very soon, and I would encourage
you to attend.
If you have any questions, or can help in any way, please see a
member of our ministry, or just come to our meeting.
